Baby Keem, the Las Vegas rapper and producer who shook up the rap scene with his debut album The Melodic Blue, has been keeping things quiet since his 2021 breakout. Outside of a few appearances and collaborations, including a deluxe edition of The Melodic Blue in 2022, he’s largely stepped away from solo releases. But according to one of his close collaborators, that silence might be ending soon.
Cardo Got Wings, (American record producer and former rapper) who’s worked with everyone from Travis Scott, Drake, Migos, to Wiz Khalifa, recently hinted that something’s brewing. When Complex asked him where Keem’s been, Cardo responded with a laugh: “Keem is like… I think he got a Batcave now that he just purchased. Somewhere in Nevada or something. He’s on some Batman stuff.”
While Cardo didn’t give away any concrete release dates, his tone made it clear—Keem is far from done. “Keem is coming. Baby bro is alive and well. He’s living life right now… probably getting buff as hell. But trust me, we got everything under control.”
Fans have been hungry for more ever since Keem and his cousin Kendrick Lamar dropped their Grammy-winning track “Family Ties,” a bold, fiery moment that positioned the 23-year-old as one of the most promising voices in modern rap. Even when Keem isn’t physically on stage, his impact still echoes. During Kendrick’s recent North American stadium tour, the Compton legend rapped Keem’s part on “family ties,” injecting new lines into the verse as a tribute to his younger collaborator.
Of course, there’s still chatter from the Drake and Kendrick beef earlier this year, where Drake tossed out the claim that Baby Keem might be ghostwriting for Kendrick—a jab that sparked online speculation but didn’t seem to phase either artist. In fact, it only added more curiosity around Keem’s next moves.
Now, with whispers of a potential new album circulating and his producer giving fans hope, the clock is ticking. The early 2020s have already seen Keem recognized as a defining figure of the new wave. But after years of quiet, the anticipation is mounting. All eyes are on Nevada, and that so-called Batcave.
