Brandy and Monica Reunite for First-Ever Co-Headlining Tour: “The Boy Is Mine Tour” Set to Hit 24 U.S. Cities This Fall

Nearly three decades after their chart-topping duet became an R&B staple, Brandy and Monica are reuniting to give fans what they’ve long hoped for — their first-ever co-headlining tour. Appropriately titled The Boy Is Mine Tour, the 24-city run kicks off October 16 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and marks a full-circle moment for two of R&B’s most iconic voices.

Brandy, originally from Carson, California, is widely recognized for her silky vocal runs and genre-defining catalog. Monica, hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, made her mark with a powerful voice and emotionally raw ballads that resonated across generations. The two artists originally teamed up in 1998 for “The Boy Is Mine,” a duet that spent 13 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. While they briefly collaborated again in 2012 on “It All Belongs to Me,” this marks their first time sharing a stage for an entire tour.

Produced by the Black Promoters Collective, the tour won’t just spotlight Brandy and Monica’s combined legacy—it’s also stacked with an impressive lineup of special guests. Houston’s own Kelly Rowland, best known as one-third of Destiny’s Child and now a newly announced coach on The Voice UK, joins the roster. Florida-born singer-songwriter Muni Long, whose 2024 album Revenge dropped last August, brings her award-winning blend of R&B and pop to the stage. Rounding out the bill is Jamal Roberts, the latest American Idol winner and a rising gospel star who just claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Gospel Songs chart.

Brandy reflected on the tour’s significance, saying, “This isn’t just about the song. It’s about honoring our journey—where we started and where we are now. To be on stage again with Monica after all this time feels like a celebration of the evolution of our music and our sisterhood.”

Monica echoed the sentiment, emphasizing how meaningful it is for the two to share a stage again: “This tour celebrates our story—individually and together. It’s a reminder that mutual respect and real music can stand the test of time. And we’re bringing it to life for the fans who have supported us since day one.”

The tour announcement came with a visually rich short film directed by Ethan Tobman, a creative mind known for his work with Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift. Set in a surreal, sound-asylum setting, the trailer shows Brandy and Monica using their voices as a form of liberation, symbolizing both their past challenges and artistic freedom.

Both artists continue to evolve creatively. Brandy recently landed on Billboard’s list of the 75 Best R&B Singers of All Time and earned a Grammy nod for her feature on Ariana Grande’s remix of “The Boy Is Mine,” which debuted alongside a stylish, Catwoman-themed music video. Monica, also featured on the track, received her fifth Grammy nomination and continues to be a fixture in the music world with new projects in the works.

Tickets for The Boy Is Mine Tour go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster, with presale access available Thursday using the code “BPC.” With stops in cities like Los Angeles, Brooklyn, New Orleans, and Houston, this tour promises more than nostalgia—it’s a celebration of two artists who have grown individually, yet continue to inspire together.
