After much anticipation, Cardi B is gearing up to drop her highly awaited sophomore album, and she’s wasting no time making her mark. Following the recent release of her first single, the Bronx native has now announced another track, fueling excitement among fans eagerly awaiting new music from the rap sensation.
Taking to her social media platforms on Monday, March 11, Cardi B unveiled the cover art for her upcoming single titled “Enough (Miami),” along with its slated release date of Friday, March 15. The artwork features a striking image of Cardi, nude and oiled up, perched atop a white bench with her flowing black hair.
The new single comes hot on the heels of her previous release, “Like What (Freestyle),” which dropped just two weeks prior. Demonstrating a confrontational tone reminiscent of her earlier work, the bass-heavy track teases a return to Cardi B’s roots, drawing praise from fans who eagerly anticipate her signature style.
In the song, Cardi delivers menacing lyrics with confidence, asserting her dominance in the rap game: “I can survive in the coldest conditions/ H*** better lower their tone when they spittin’/ B****s is washed, soap on the dishes/ I apply pressure like boa constrictors.” The accompanying hook reinforces her assertiveness, signaling that “Enough is enough” in the face of opposition.
Notably, the track builds on the momentum from her previous single, which sampled Missy Elliott’s 1999 hit “She’s A B****.” With these consecutive releases, Cardi B appears to be fully immersed in album mode, hinting at what’s to come from her highly anticipated second album.
The rap superstar had previously teased her album plans on Instagram, assuring fans that she’s committed to delivering new music despite any obstacles: “January 27 of 20-20-f***in’-three. I be working on this shit at 5 a.m. You know, I’m a night owl. I promise y’all, this year I’m not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say. If I do a song, I’ma just f***in’ drop it. Well, I got no choice, because I’m dropping my album this year, so stay tuned for the announcement.”
Cardi B’s debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” made waves upon its release nearly seven years ago in 2018, earning critical acclaim and solidifying her status as a dominant force in hip-hop. Now, with the imminent release of her sophomore effort and the promise of more music on the horizon, fans can expect nothing short of another chart-topping success from the rap icon.
