Clipse Announced Upcoming Album “Let God Sort ‘Em Out” Featuring Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell Williams & More

After a 16-year hiatus, legendary Virginia Beach duo Clipse—made up of brothers Gene “Malice” Thornton and Terrence “Pusha T” Thornton—are officially back in full force. Their upcoming album, Let God Sort ‘Em Out, is set to drop July 11, and the momentum behind the rollout is undeniable. With Pharrell Williams, their longtime collaborator and fellow Virginia native, producing the entire project, fans can expect a cinematic and layered return to form.

The album features a stacked lineup of guests from across the hip-hop and R&B spectrum. Kendrick Lamar, fresh off the buzz of his recent “Pop Out” performance and diss track exchanges with Drake, appears on “Chains & Whips.” According to multiple reports, getting Kendrick on the track wasn’t easy—Pusha T reportedly had to negotiate a massive seven-figure buyout to free the verse from Def Jam’s grip. The result? A feature that fans are already calling a standout moment of the project.

Another key feature comes from Queensbridge legend Nas, who appears on the album’s title track. Pusha T shared that when Pharrell reworked the instrumental, it instantly reminded him of Nas’s classic style. He sent the beat and his vocals over to Nas, who was immediately inspired, calling and refining his verse across several days before recording it. “He was all in,” Pusha said, emphasizing how seriously Nas took the collaboration.

Meanwhile, Tyler, The Creator, the genre-blurring rapper and producer from Los Angeles, brought his energy directly to the studio. Despite being on tour, Tyler was so invested in the project that he recorded remotely and delivered a standout verse for “P.O.V.” “He went crazy,” Pusha recalled, praising Tyler’s ability to create magic on the fly.

Clipse also tapped into the soulful energy of Ohio’s own John Legend for “The Birds Don’t Sing,” which also features gospel group Voices of Fire, and included crooner The-Dream on “All Things Considered” alongside Pharrell. Stove God Cooks, a rising voice in underground rap from Syracuse, delivers hard-hitting bars on “F.I.C.O.,” while Ab-Liva, a longtime Re-Up Gang collaborator from Philly, appears on “Inglorious Bastards.”

This marks the duo’s first full-length release since 2009’s Til the Casket Drops. After that, Malice stepped away from the spotlight to pursue his faith and personal growth. In the years since, he’s made gradual returns to the mic—appearing on Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry and Kanye West’s Jesus Is King. Now, he says working with Pharrell again has been creatively refreshing and spiritually aligned. “It felt natural. Pharrell challenges you to dig deeper,” Malice shared in a recent interview.

The project, which features 13 tracks, will be released under a new distribution deal with Roc Nation. To support the album, Clipse will head out on a nationwide tour kicking off August 3 in Boston and running through September 10 in Detroit. Other stops include New York, Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more—making this a full-fledged comeback from one of the most revered rap duos of the 2000s.

With Let God Sort ‘Em Out, Clipse aren’t just returning—they’re reasserting their legacy with a fresh, refined sound and a powerful cast of collaborators. The wait is nearly over.
