It looks like A$AP Rocky might’ve let a little secret slip about the baby he’s expecting with Rihanna, and fans are buzzing about what it could mean.
While walking the red carpet for the world premiere of The Smurfs Movie in Brussels, Rocky had a lighthearted but telling moment with Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier. When Frazier asked if he was finally getting the baby girl he’d been waiting for, the Harlem-born rapper and fashion icon replied with a grin, “It is, man, it is,” before holding up a plush Smurfette doll. “Right here, right here,” he added, gesturing to the toy.
Frazier pushed a bit further, sensing the clue, but Rocky laughed it off, repeating, “Right here.”
Meanwhile, Rihanna, who voices Smurfette in the upcoming animated film, wasn’t giving much away. Speaking with the same reporter, the Barbados-born singer and beauty mogul played it cool. “Let’s see if it’s a Smurfette! I don’t know. Could be a Papa Smurf. Who knows?” she said with a smile.
One thing she did confirm? Like their first two children—RZA Athelston Mayers and Riot Rose Mayers—baby number three will also have a name starting with “R.” “That’s the one thing me and Rocky don’t fight over,” she said.
Rihanna, who’s been focusing on her Fenty empire and the Smurfs film while fans eagerly await new music, has been enjoying motherhood. Rocky, on the other hand, has continued his work in fashion and music, with recent appearances and creative projects keeping him in the spotlight.
When asked how many kids the couple plans on having, Rocky gave a warm answer: “We’re gonna be like the Wayans family. I mean, love is beautiful, and it’s just spreading it.”
The Smurfs Movie, starring Rihanna as the voice of Smurfette, hits theaters July 18.
