Taylor is gearing up to release her new studio album, Escape Room, on August 22. The first two singles, “Long Time” and the recently dropped “Bed of Roses,” offer a glimpse into the emotional depth and visual richness that fans can expect. “Bed of Roses” is a sultry, emotionally-charged R&B track layered with tender melodies and Taylor’s unmistakable vocals. The song opens with a poetic monologue from Issa Rae, setting the tone for a story about vulnerability, passion, and connection. In true Teyana fashion, she directed the cinematic music video herself, co-produced by none other than music legend Missy Elliott and acclaimed filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson. The visual features British actor Aaron Pierre, with whom Taylor crafts a steamy and symbolic interpretation of intimacy and trust.
The return to music is a surprising move for Taylor, who had previously expressed frustration with the industry and a desire to shift focus toward acting. And she’s following through on that front, too—her next major film, One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and co-starring Leonardo DiCaprio, is set for a September release.
