Top Fashion Trends In Hip Hop: Artist & Brands Collaboration Run-Through.

    2021 was quite a ride, from covid, omicron, celebrity gossip, deaths, new music, remixes, and so much more. The fashion & music industry has had quite a ride in 2021 as well. Many artists and fashion brands had to learn to find new and creative ways that help reach and connect with their fans and customers. Many artists collab with fashion brands, some artist owns their brands, and some artists with brands branch out to other fashion brands.

    Let’s go through the rundown of fashion and artists currently trending in 2022 in the hip-hop community. From Lil Naz x, Wu Wear, Adidas, Fenty, OVO, Travis Scott, Ivy Park, Wolf Wang, Cardi B, Yezzy, Doja Cat, Saweetie, Revlon, Tyga, Megan Thee Stallion, Gap, PrettyLittleThing, and many other celebrities and brands.

    Yeezy X Gap / Adidas: -HipHopUntapped

    Yeezy X Gap / Adidas:

    Yeezy is owned and run by Kanye West. West, better known by his new name YE, is an American rapper, record producer, and fashion designer. West, who was born in Atlanta and lived in Chicago, rose to established credit in the early 2000s as a producer for Roc-A-Fella Records, releasing singles for a variety of singers and pioneering the “chipmunk soul” sampling technique. Yeezy has had a very successful 2021 ride. Many people were not fond of Kanye new brand when he first created it, but with new collections constantly dropping and other celebrities and big brands collabs the company has grown among many people. Yeezy’s top 2021 big moment were their collaborations with Gap, Adidas, and also Venessa Beecroft. Yeezy x Gap hoodies and the round jacket has been on almost everyone and their family. The puffy buttonless jacket comes in red, blue, and black, and is currently being sold for over three times its original price. They cost 200 each, and when they were released they caused complete chaos online, crashing Gap’s website and selling out in a few minutes, The Yeezy hoodie delivered the most sales in a single day in’s history. The hoodies came in six colors black, brown, tan, red, blue, and purple. From Adidas Yeezy Boost 380 “Yecoraite”, Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Ash Blue”, Adidas Yeezy 450 “Cloud White”, Adidas Yeezy Quantum “Onyx”, to Adidas Yeezy Slide, and Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Blue Tint” Yeezy has raised the bar with every collaboration and collection releases with Adidas. From collaborations with big brands, and fashion shows with celebrities like Vanessa Beecroft, the company has grown and continues to expand.

    Milano Di Rouge is founded and run by Milan Harris ( Johnika Harris ). On November 11, 2012, she created Milano Di Rouge. She then opened her first Milano Di Rouge physical store located in Philadelphia PA on August 22, 2016. Although Milano Runs her brand by herself, her sister @iamnunu__ is her biggest motivator and partner who helps her manage the brand. Milano Di Rouge has had much recognition and popularity through celebrities wearing and promoting it such as Meek Mill, Monica Denise, Supa Cent (Wuzzam Supa), Jayda Cheaves, Kash Doll, Winnie Harlow, Lil Durk, Ciara, DJ Duffey, and many other celebrities. The brand offers unisex, kids, men’s, and women’s clothing in sizes small to extra large.

    Wu-Wear is owned by Oliver “Power” Grant who expanded his brand by opening four Wu-Wear stores, in New York City, Norfolk, Virginia, Los Angeles, and Atlanta. The line was also held in Rich’s, Macy’s, and d.e.m.o, among others. Grant is an entrepreneur, producer, streetwear clothing mogul, and actor. As a close associate of the hip-hop group, Wu-Tang Clan, Grant executive produced all of the Wu-Tang Clan albums. In 2017, Grant and the RZA teamed up with Live Nation merchandise to reintroduce the popular clothing line. Power works as the brand’s “heritage Creative Consultant to assure high creative control.” The collection comprises both traditional and modern designs. There are many Wu Wear designs and options from t-shirts. hoodies, long sleeves, tank, track pants, crops, short sleeves, shorts, sweatshirts, jackets, gaps, slides, and beanies.

    Fenty Beauty x Riot Games:

    Riot Games, the creator of League of Legends, has announced Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty as an official partner. Fenty Beauty will “curate beauty looks across Riot Games and content, striving to emphasize the complex and diversified beauty environment that celebrates beauty in all of its forms, including animation,” according to a press release. The cooperation formally began on November 6, 2021, at 10 p.m. EST, with the release of Arcane (a Netflix series based on League of Legends). Fenty Beauty’s introduction into gaming paves the company’s way to an almost limitless amount of collaborations. Given that makeup is commonly used to define characters, the brand might play a significant role in elevating the appearance of video game avatars. The collaboration also may pave the way for Fenty Beauty NFTs, which could take the form of virtual makeup that users can buy and apply to their characters in various games.

    Drake and his tour manager Oliver El-Khatib created OVO  “October’s Very Own” clothing line, which features owl-themed items. The collection goes beyond “Drake’s label merch,” with collaborations with Origins. The style is compared to  Canada’s Gap ( low-key tees with Japanese cool guy shop Nepenthes).  Drake’s Jordan Brand collaboration, Suicoke, and Kanye West collaboration helped establish the brand as an intriguing label. That mixes the pop culture appeal and still mixes its roots in all its collaborations. From there new Drake’s OVO X Nike, such as their Nike Air Force 1 & Nocta collection,  NBA for the Fall/Winter 2021 collection,  partner with Bobby Shmurda for part of his New York Knicks-theme collection, BAPE X OVO (Which featured FUTURE), Raptors and OVO. Plus so many more.

    Cardi B x Reebok debuted on August 27th, with street-style footwear, athletic, and leisure apparel inspired by Cardi‘s hometown of New York City. The new capsule includes a variety of bright and distinctive satin/woven coats, slacks, bodysuits, leather shoes, leggings, and skirts. Comes in sizes ranging from 2XS to 4X, in both children’s and women’s sizes. It became widely available in a variety of stores after selling out on the website. Cardi’s Reebok sneakers all sold out swiftly, but they’re still available on resale sites like StockX, and the sites update more constantly so always be sure to keep checking out the website.

    Billionaire Boys Club was founded in 2003 by musician Pharrell Williams and his manager Rob Walker, along with fashion designer and A Bathing Ape inventor Nigo (Tomoaki Nagao) and Japanese graphic artist Sk8thing (Shinichiro Nakamura). They have stores in the United States as well as other countries. Stores in Tokyo, Japan, are currently open, with plans to expand to New York, Soho, London, Europe, Asia, China, and the Middle East in the future. Nas, Teyana Taylor, Jay Z, A$AP Rocky, Q Tips, Pusha T, Remy Banks (Children of the Night), Busta Rhymes, Swizz Beatz, Bow Wow, and a slew of other well-known celebrities have all lent their support to the brand. Tops, coats, t-shirts, hoodies, denim, crewneck pants, foot-wears, shorts, and a variety of home and accessory goods such as carpets, candles, and cushions are all variety of clothing apparel and accessories range.

Many fans’ favorite collections with these two top brands range from Blue Ivy Park Collection to Halls of Ivy Collection, and many others. clothing such as Jackets, shoes, pants, tights, hoodies, socks, sweatshirts, bags, rompers, caps, robes, and a range of other clothing apparel are available. many of which come in matching sets. For both genders and children, the brand includes both physical activity and casual wear items.

    Golf Wang is a streetwear company founded in 2011, with Odd Future on Fairfax Avenue owned by Tyler, the Creator, an American singer. Golf Wang is a spoonerism for his Los Angeles-based musical collectives. The brand sells lookbooks, jewelry, and other merchandise. They also run Golf le Fleur which is a brand that sells apparel and shoes. Golf Wang collaborated with a number of our favorite companies, including Vans, Lacoste, Levi Strauss & Co, Converse, and many others. After Odd Future closed on October 25, 2017, they now have a Golf Wang flagship, dubbed “GOLF,” on 350 North Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, California.

    Dior has decided to make its entire upcoming spring/summer menswear collection a collaboration with Travis Scott, the most recent of which is Dior and Travis Scott’s for the Parisian luxury fashion company, titled “Cactus Jack Dior.” Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack x Dior “B713” Sneakers are a fan favorite. There are a few hues in the shoe line, all of which have a mesh upper with a huge suede overlay that wraps around the sneaker from the toebox to the heel. The toecap features an extra ollie guard overlay, while the tongue, heel, and eye stay feature a Piss Drunx-inspired “CD” logo. A Cactus Jack-inspired Dior logo can also be found on the lateral heel tag as well as debossed on the heel tab. The Travis Scott x Dior collection will not be released in January, according to Dior. “Dior and Travis have agreed to postpone indefinitely the launch of products from the Cactus Jack collaboration initially scheduled to be included in its summer 2022 collection out of respect for everyone affected by the awful events at “Astroworld.” We are still looking forward to these iconic sneakers.

The limited-edition palette features 10 rich eyeshadow and highlighter powders in cool and warm tones and a variety of textures, all handpicked by the rap queen herself. The hues may be worn alone for modest everyday looks or layered to create strong evening eyes with depth and dimension. They can be applied dry for a softer finish or wet for added intensity.     The first-ever PLT + Saweetie Collection debuted last year with a fashion show featuring tie-dye sets, neon tiny dresses, ’90s-inspired tube tops, comfortable sweatsuits, with even an iced-out statement thong, and it was a huge success. Saweetie‘s new 49-piece clothing collection debuted on Monday, December 4th, and offers a wide range of apparel designs for any occasion, including seductive streetwear, bold crop top,  pants, and skirts.  Saweetie called the collection “grown, chic and hella majestic”. You can shop a variety of PLT + Saweetie collections from hooded puffers, pants, shirts, corsets, jeans, and coats. 

    P Diddy Sean John x Missguided-HipHopUntapped

    P Diddy Sean John x Missguided:

    Missguided, a British store, just released its second collaboration with P Diddy‘s “Sean John” streetwear brand, in which P Doddy won the bidding war and became the sole owner of the fashion label. The first, which drew celebrity notice from Lizzo and Gabrielle Union cost many chaoses.  It centered around Sean John’s characteristics including velour, nylon textiles, and its scripted logo. However, the launch got Sean John in legal trouble over promotions, but it was a success. The second debuted in September and comprised 114 streetwear and athleisure basics. The new Court-side Edit was set to be released in two parts. Clothing included  Crop tops, oversized button-down shirts, and baggy pants in a variety of spring colors, including peach, mint green, and lavender, which characterize the collection, which also includes crop tops, oversized button-down shirts, and baggy pants. Fans Favorite varsity jackets, mini dresses, and dual-toned denim in the form of pants, overalls, jackets, and corset tops.

    Doja Cat x PrettyLittleThing:

    This is Doja‘s first time having complete design control over the collection, unlike her previous collaboration with PrettyLittleThing in November 2020. Her collection is the right mix of everyday neutral essentials (like the Stone Knitted Tie Collar Bodycon Dress and Oversized Maxi Trench Coat) and unexpected summer standouts (like the Stone Knitted Tie Collar Bodycon Dress and Oversized Maxi Trench Coat) ( such as Pink Floral Ruched Mesh Beach Flares & lFloral Mesh Ruched Bodycon Dress). Sizes 0 through 22 are included in the collection. From knit dresses to satin trousers, halter tops, bikinis, meshy pants, and cover-ups, to a sequined bikini top with matching bottoms, white tie-waist two-piece, brown ruched mini skirt, bell-sleeved tan wrap-dress, and a tan, ribbed midi dress with a peekaboo waist cutout and a tortoise ring embellishment.     NBA YoungBoy has been released from jail and is now in his bag. From collaborating with Vlone to dropping tunes with a variety of celebrities. Vlone is recognized for its popular streetwear, and the collaboration is in honor of YB’s album’s success. Shirts, hoodies, balaclavas, and sweatpants will be part of the new line. Each design is a visual reflection of one of the album’s songs, such as “Dead Trollz,” “My Window,” or “Reaper’s Child.” YoungBoy is depicted in black and white on the “My Window” tee. The “Reaper’s Child” tee has a black and white graphic of NBA YoungBoy, which is similar to the album’s cover art and speaks about his upbringing and fake love. A multi-colored image of a rabbit with Vlone’s characteristic “V” stamped across the back appears on the “Trollz” tee.

    TYGA X MARCELO BURLON X SAKS FIFTH AVENUE/Tyga partners with boohooMAN-HipHopUntapped


    The Marcelo Burlon x Tyga capsule collection debuted at Saks Fifth Avenue on Thursday, May 12. Embroidered t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and shorts were among the items in the collection. Among the visuals in the Tyga x Burlon collection are tigers, woods, and unclear characters. Burlon and Tyga’s latest collaboration is limited to 100 pieces per unit. For AW17, BoohooMAN and Tyga collaborated on a capsule collection of 30 pieces, which was released on the site in June. Chinos, jeans, hoodies, shirts, outerwear, and T-shirts, and accessories are all part of the collection. The lineup takes inspiration from Tyga’s own personal style. Heavily influenced by streetwear vibes, the line features strong designs, exaggerated silhouettes, and abrasive textures that coexist with frayed denim, PVC, and the brand’s distinctive MAN logo in a collection that draws inspiration from urban, hip hop, and punk culture. The majority of the collection sold out within a few days of its launch.

    With his collaboration, Telfar Clemens an award-winning designer expands his profession even further by collaborating with Telfar. His initial collaboration included footwear, clothing, and accessories. The Logo Mini features Telfar’s iconic “TC” monogram at its center, which has been made with fine suede, creamy shearling, and recycled wool in either “Chestnut” or “Black.” The Fleece Mini and Fleece Tall are grey footwear alternatives inspired by Telfar’s core range, with a pair of sherpa-lined logo-adorned hoodies rounding out the capsule’s outerwear. A pair of plush fleece bucket hats in “Chestnut” or black, as well as a reinvented shopping bag, are available as accessories. The Ugg collaboration will comprise a variety of shearling-lined boots, soft loungewear to match, bags, shearling-lined slippers, and new hues of sweatpant-like fleece material imprinted with the Telfar emblem at the top across all categories. In a seamless new line of comfortable fleece and shearling essentials embroidered with the Telfar emblem, both fanbases enjoy the best of both worlds.

    In a collaboration, Fendi’s artistic director (Kim Jones) has teamed up with fashion’s other Kim, shapewear queen Ms. Kardashian. The collaboration features logo-printed onesies, tights, shorts, jumpsuits, bodysuits, hosieries, bikinis, dresses, and bra underwear sets in a range of styles. The collaboration is inspired by a vintage Fendi collection presented by Karl Lagerfeld in 1979. Skims has already expanded to encompass loungewear, activewear, lingerie, and even socks before this introduction. Skims also created Team USA’s official underwear, pajamas, and loungewear for the Tokyo Olympics. According to the two Kims, the project “unites the luxury of Fendi with the innovation of Skims. As expected, the Fendi x Skims collection is already sold out online, but there’s still time to get your hands on certain Fendi x Skims items.

    Lil Nas X and MSCHF-HipHopUntapped

    Lil Nas X and MSCHF:

    We had to save the best for last, of course. If you haven’t heard of Lil Nas X‘s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name) you must,  the Mschf and Lil Nas X’s Satan Shoes were inspired by it and were top 10 Google search sense 2019. The shoes which are a satanic twist on Nike’s Air Max 97s; Nike does not approve of them and was not part of the collaboration; Mschf was sued for making the shoes Birkenstock-style shoes out of Birkin bags). The laces are decorated with a handcrafted metal pentagram, and the sides are engraved with Luke 10:18. (And He declared to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven,” according to the Bible text.  The soles filled with ink and one drop of human blood, however, is the feature that has everyone talking. Also “Sacrificed” was the latter by the Mschf team. Only 666 pairs were produced, and each one is numbered. Each special edition is uniquely designed. Since the press around it and the lawsuit, the price of the shoes went up, although the company was offering a full refund of the original price due to their Nike lawsuit settlement.

    Virgil Abloh-HipHopUntapped

    Remembering Virgil Abloh:

    While a lot of great Fashion was released in 2021 the fashion world also lost one of its most well-known creators Virgil Abloh. Virgil Abloh was an American fashion designer and entrepreneur. He was the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection beginning in 2018 and was given increased creative responsibilities across the LVMH brand in early 2021. Wikipedia
