Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper and actor, has announced plans to turn his popular online show, GGN (Double G News Network), into a movie. With over 400 episodes since its inception in 2011, Snoop envisions a comedic film akin to the Anchorman series, with himself portraying the character Nemo Hoes, a persona from the show.
GGN features interviews with a wide range of guests, from Nipsey Hussle to Seth Rogen. Snoop credits the show with pioneering the podcast format, despite its origins pre-dating the podcast boom.
Drawing parallels to Anchorman, Snoop’s envisioned movie would likely see him in a role similar to Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy. This move further solidifies Snoop’s transition from music to acting, with over 50 acting credits to his name, including recent appearances in the 2023 House Party reboot and an upcoming lead role in the sports comedy film, The Underdoggs, set to release on Amazon Prime Video on January 26.
Directed by Charles Stone III and featuring a star-studded cast including Tika Sumpter, Andrew Schulz, Mike Epps, and George Lopez, The Underdoggs promises to be another addition to Snoop Dogg‘s diverse portfolio in the entertainment industry.
