After a brief hiatus, T.I. has returned with a new single, “Llogclay,” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
This track will be part of his forthcoming final album, “Kill The King.” The song serves as a tribute to his late big brother, mentor, manager, and Grand Hustle vice president, Claybourne Evans Jr., who tragically passed away last year. Clay played a pivotal role in T.I.’s life, offering guidance throughout his 20+ year career.
Produced by Bands, “Llogclay” sees T.I. and NBA YoungBoy delivering introspective verses reflecting on life’s struggles, lost loved ones, and their personal challenges. NBA YoungBoy kicks off with a verse that includes the lines, “Cryptic messages, face card ain’t good at all. They don’t like him ’round the hood at all, he ain’t understood at all. Been mistreated, he just play roles when his feelings get involved.” Later in the rap YoungBoy Never Broke Again continues spiting his heart out “I don’t really like the way you play with me, misgrading me. Made my way out the jungle. They wanna see me go under. Still conquer like I’m Mutombo. I’m sittin’ aside because my heart tired. I done took so many long rides my whole life”
T.I. reminisces about times with Clay Evans, rapping, “Couldn’t tell me shit with Hannah, Snake, JG, and Clay with me. I’m thinking back to better days like, ‘We can get it back.’ But no more Clay, what kind of s*** is that? Remember that.” Later in the track, he continues, “Strongest n**** I know, meanest n**** I seen (For real). Still can’t believe my n**** leaving, we a f***ing team (For real). Now I’m grieving, drunk, just speedin’ in the f***ing rain (Yoom). Beside the pain, I feel nothin’, man.”
The release of “Llogclay” was accompanied by an animated music video featuring nostalgic footage of Clay. This single follows T.I.’s 2023 releases, including his Dec 15, 2023 “Sware I’m” with Trae Tha Truth, and Nov 2, 2023 “Vacay” featuring Kamo Mphela. His upcoming “Kill The King” album will follow his 2020 album “The L.I.B.R.A.,” which featured collaborations with Young Thug, 42 Dugg, Snoop Dogg, Lil Baby, Rick Ross, 21 Savage, Mozzy, Jeremih, Benny The Butcher, Eric Belinger, Rapsody, Killer Mike, Conway the Machine, Jadakiss, Tokyo Jetz, Ms.Pat, Rahky, and more.
