Kendrick Lamar has exciting news for fans! He’s gearing up for a special concert in Los Angeles to celebrate Juneteenth. Titled “The Pop Out — Ken and Friends,” the event is scheduled for June 19 at the Kia Forum, presented by pgLang and Free Lunch. The show kicks off at 4 p.m., promising an unforgettable experience.
While the full lineup remains a mystery for now, Kendrick teased the announcement on social media. Presale tickets for the Forum concert were up for grabs on June 6 at 10 a.m. PST through the Cash App Card, with general ticket sales starting on June 7 at 10 a.m. PST on Ticketmaster.com. If you haven’t secured your spot yet, you probably should hurry and grab yours, before it’s sold out.
The concert’s title, “The Pop Out,” comes from a lyric from Kendrick’s recent hit single “Not Like Us.” In the track, he spits, “Sometimes you gotta pop out and show n—s/ Certified boogeyman, I’m the one that up the score with ’em.” The song also takes a jab at Drake, fueling their ongoing rap rivalry.
The feud between Kendrick and Drake has been escalating for months, particularly since Kendrick’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” in March. Since then, the two have been exchanging jabs, sparking debates among fans and hip-hop lovers. Many seem to favor Kendrick, citing his harder-hitting lyrics.
Meanwhile, Kendrick has been teasing a new album, generating excitement among fans. Terrace Martin, a Los Angeles-based producer, has been hyping up the project on Instagram Live, suggesting it will elevate the West Coast’s presence in the rap scene.
