André 3000, the renowned member of OutKast, has revealed plans for his upcoming tour in support of his debut solo album, New Blue Sun. The announcement came in a unique fashion, directly from his dentist’s office, where fans witnessed the revelation as the legendary artist got his teeth scanned.
Accompanying André 3000 on the tour are Carlos Niño, Nate Mercereau, Surya Botofasina, and Deantoni Parks, all of whom are featured on his album. The lineup, however, is noted to be subject to change.
The tour, spanning across 26 dates, commenced with three consecutive performances at Pappy + Harriet’s in Joshua Tree, California. From there, it embarks on a global journey, traversing through North America, Australia, and Europe, before concluding with a series of shows at the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur, California, in early September.
Last year, the announcement of André 3000’s instrumental LP generated much anticipation, notably fueled by Questlove’s enthusiastic endorsement. Questlove lauded the album as a ‘next level’ departure from the norm, likening it to ‘good medicine.’
