Dave East & Ransom Drops “The Final Call” and “Fairwells” Music Video

To celebrate the release of their new collaborative album, The Final Call, rappers Dave East and Ransom have dropped the music video for the album’s closing track, “Fairwells.”

Directed by High-Quality Visuals, the video shows the two artists reflecting on their past while surrounded by their crew. The song itself focuses on leaving the street life behind. Ransom starts off with lines like, “Damn, here’s my farewells to the street life / I’m from a place where if you talk proper, they say you speak white,” while Dave East follows up with, “Farewell to the bros I lost / Ups and downs in life, workers get smoker’s cough.”

The Final Call is officially out, featuring tracks like “Mayhem” and “The Mosque.” The album also includes guest appearances from Jay Electronica and Method Man, with production from V Don, MadeinTYO, and Prophecy.

This new project marks another strong collaboration between Dave East and Ransom, who have worked together on tracks like “Everything for Sale” and DJ Kay Slay’s legendary posse cuts “Rolling 50 Deep” and “Rolling 110 Deep.” The chemistry between the two rappers is on full display in this album, making it a must-listen for their fans.

The album opens with “Audubon Ballroom,” a drumless track produced by MadeinTYO that allows both rappers to shine over a soulful sample. The title track, featuring Jay Electronica, showcases the trio’s ability to dominate any beat they touch. “Soul Food in Mecca” flips a gospel sample while emphasizing perseverance, and “By Any Means Necessary,” featuring Method Man, highlights how people often wait until someone is gone to truly appreciate their talent.

Other highlights include “Mayhem,” featuring 22Gz and produced by V Don, which delivers a track filled with raw energy. “Al Kabir Beach” reflects on the struggles of the past and the success of the present, while “The Mosque” continues the theme of daily prayer, blending in soulful production. “Blood & Water” responds to those who try to box them in, proving their versatility and skill.

As the album winds down, “Exotic Prayer Rugs” featuring Jadin Alexander strips away the drums for a more reflective sound. Finally, “Fairwells” closes the album on an emotional note, speaking on the hardships and conflicts they’ve had to navigate throughout their careers.

With strong lyricism and hard-hitting production, The Final Call stands as a powerful collaboration between two respected MCs. The project brings out the best in both artists, creating an album that leaves a lasting impression.
