Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR just dropped the tracklist for their upcoming album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U, and Freddie Gibbs isn’t too happy about it. The rapper took to social media to call them out, suggesting that they copied elements from his 2022 album, $oul $old $eparately. Fans quickly noticed similarities, from the triple dollar signs ($$$) in the title to the use of rabbits in the album artwork—both of which have been key parts of Gibbs’ branding for years.
The back cover of $ome $exy $ongs 4 U features three cartoon rabbits, each with different symbols in their eyes—one with dollar signs, another with earbuds on fire, and the last one with hearts. For Gibbs, this wasn’t just a coincidence. He has long referred to himself as “Big Rabbit,” making the rabbit a major part of his identity, much like Kanye West’s bear mascot. His $oul $old $eparately album cover also prominently features a rabbit, and he frequently uses the rabbit emoji in his posts.
Damn they even stole the rabbits too. I’m flattered.

When the tracklist was revealed, Gibbs wasted no time responding. “Damn, they even stole the rabbits too. I’m flattered,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter). He later doubled down by sharing a promo for $oul $old $eparately and captioning it, “$$$4u [heart emoji],” making it clear that he saw a direct link between his album and Drake and PND’s new project.
Fans quickly joined the conversation, with many agreeing that the similarities were too obvious to ignore. One user wrote, “Using the $$$ and rabbit from @FreddieGibbs is nasty work,” one person posted, another posting “I forgot Freddie Gibbs be using the bunny with dollar signs a lot for his stuff. Yeah, Drake and PND just straight up copied that lmfao.” Gibbs even reshared tweets from fans calling out Drake and PND for allegedly biting his style.

This isn’t the first time artists have been accused of copying each other, but the debate remains—did Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR intentionally take inspiration from Gibbs, or is this just a case of “great minds think alike”? So far, neither Drake nor PND have responded to the claims, leaving the question open: Was this just a coincidence, or did the OVO duo really borrow from Big Rabbit’s playbook?
