Drake is making history this summer by headlining all three nights of London’s Wireless Festival, and fans are already going crazy for tickets. The festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will take place from July 11 to 13 at Finsbury Park, and each night will have a totally different vibe.
On Friday, Drake will perform with PARTYNEXTDOOR, meaning fans can expect songs from their new album, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. R&B singer Summer Walker is also set to hit the stage that night.
Saturday’s show is called “Drake & The Mandem,” and while the lineup is still a mystery, it’s rumored that UK rap stars like Skepta, Giggs, Central Cee, Dave, and Headie One might join him.
Sunday night will bring an Afrobeats and dancehall twist, with Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel confirmed to perform alongside Drake.
Fans have been scrambling to get their hands on tickets, with some pre-sale passes selling out in just a minute. Prices vary by day, with Saturday being the most expensive due to the secret lineup. Three-day passes and VIP packages are also available, with some tickets costing over $295 per day. General sales open on February 19 at noon.
This will be Drake’s first UK performance in six years, and while many are hyped for his return, some fans have mixed feelings. Some are upset that there aren’t more UK artists headlining, arguing that British acts like Dave or J Hus deserve a top spot. Others are just excited to see Drake perform three unique sets across the weekend.
Meanwhile, Drake recently turned down a similar offer to headline three nights at Rolling Loud, the top hip-hop festival in the U.S. Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif revealed they tried to book Drake for “Three Nights of Drake” but couldn’t make it happen.
Beyond the festival buzz, Drake has also been in the spotlight for his ongoing rap beef with Kendrick Lamar. The two have been feuding for years, and things heated up recently when Kendrick won a Grammy for his diss track Not Like Us. To make things even more interesting, Kendrick is set to perform in Birmingham just one night before Drake’s Wireless Festival debut.
With all this drama and excitement, Wireless Festival 2024 is shaping up to be one of the biggest events of the summer. More artists are expected to be announced soon, so fans will have to wait and see who else will take the stage alongside Drake.
