Memphis-based rapper Finesse2Tymes has just dropped the music video for his latest single “Letter to the Devil,” further cementing his reputation as one of hip-hop’s most compelling storytellers. This new release comes just after he announced an unreleased song “NoLove: Art of war” coming soon.
The 31-year-old artist, whose real name is Ricky Hampton, Finesse2Tymes has drawn inspiration from the city’s rich hip-hop legacy, infusing his own brand of gritty, street-oriented rap. In “Letter to the Devil,” Finesse2Tymes delivers a raw, introspective track that delves into the darker aspects of his life experiences. The music video, matches the song’s intensity, Finesse2Tymes is shown navigating a moody, neon-lit urban landscape, his powerful verses punctuated by scenes of violence and struggle.
The release of “Letter to the Devil” comes on the heels of Finesse2Tymes’ recent single “Thought It Was Over,” released March 22, and “Fat Boy” featuring Rick Ross, which dropped in January. Both have been generating significant buzz and gaining streams within the hip-hop community. It also comes after a string of recent hits from the rising star, including “Back End” and ” Luv N Hip Hop” featuring DaBaby, “Nobody” with Gucci Mane, and “Overdose.” Finesse2Tymes has also collaborated with fellow Memphis native and hip-hop legend, Yo Gotti, on the track “Humble.” Beyond his solo work, Finesse2Tymes has been making waves in the industry through his high-profile features and collaborations. In 2023, he earned a nomination for “Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist” at the BET Hip Hop Awards, further solidifying his status as one of the genre’s most promising artist.
