Kehlani ‘While We Wait 2’ Album

The anticipation is finally over, Kehlani has released While We Wait 2 on Wednesday, August 28, via TSNMI and Atlantic Records. The mixtape, a follow-up to their 2019 project While We Wait, arrives with 14 tracks featuring a variety of notable collaborations.

Earlier this week, Kehlani dropped the single “When He’s Not There,” featuring Lucky Daye, marking their first collaboration since “Can You Blame Me” from Kehlani’s 2020 sophomore album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t. The mixtape also includes other standout collaborations such as “Clothes Off” featuring Kwn, “Know Better” with Lil Mo’ and Vince Staples, “Form of You” featuring ChildofNines and Destin Conrad, and “Slow Dance” with Dixson. Additionally, While We Wait 2 features remixes of two tracks from their fourth studio album Crash—”8,” remixed by FLO, and “After Hours,” which features Ludmilla. The original versions of these tracks contributed to Crash reaching No. 25 on the Billboard 200, with “After Hours” climbing to No. 4 on the Rhythmic Airplay chart.

Kehlani’s first While We Wait mixtape was released on February 22, 2019, via Atlantic Records. The nine-track project included collaborations with Musiq Soulchild on “Footsteps,” Dom Kennedy on “Nunya,” Ty Dolla $ign on “Nights Like This,” and 6lack on “RPG.” The mixtape achieved significant success, reaching No. 9 on the Billboard 200. Kehlani further promoted While We Wait with a memorable performance of “Nights Like This” during their NPR Tiny Desk concert in July.

Kehlani is set to embark on the Crash World Tour next month, starting on September 4 at the Armory in Minneapolis. The tour will visit major cities including Chicago, parts of Canada, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, New Jersey, New Orleans, Las Vagas, Auston, Inglewood, Houston, Denver, Portland, Salt Lake City, Charlotte, and Los Angeles before concluding on November 2 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, Kehlani’s hometown. Special guests FLO and Anycia will join them on this highly anticipated tour.
