26-year-old Memphis rapper Key Glock has dropped his latest single, “The Greatest,” showcasing his lyrical skills and trademark aggressive style. Teaming up once again with producer Bandplay, Key Glock delivers dynamic verses over a simmering beat, with piano keys and guitars adding depth to the track. This single follows his rendition of “Let’s Go,” a fan favorite from Glockoma 2 (Deluxe).
In recent weeks, Key Glock has been on a roll, releasing an EDM remix of “Let’s Go” with Alok, as well as a posthumous verse from his mentor, both of which have been well-received by fans. “The Greatest” sees Key Glock confidently asserting his skills, setting the tone from the beginning with the line, “Yuh, they call me Glock and the G stand for ‘Greatest’ (Yuh).”
But this is just the beginning for Key Glock’s May music releases, as he plans to drop a total of five singles throughout the month. This latest single comes on the heels of the success of “Let’s Go (Remix),” a collaboration with Young Dolph that climbed to #59 on the Billboard Hot 100, further solidifying Key Glock’s presence in the rap scene.
Fans are speculating that “The Greatest” could be a teaser for Key Glock’s highly anticipated “Glocktober” album, which was hinted at late last year. Despite expectations for an October release in 2023 based on the album’s title, it seems fans might finally get their hands on the project this year in October. In addition to his solo work, Key Glock has also been featured on singles like Zo Trapalot’s “Tag Team” and Conway the Machine’s “Ten/Rya Interlude,” showcasing his versatility and staying power in the rap game.
