Larry June, 2 Chainz, and The Alchemist have released a new music video for their song “Colossal” from their joint album Life Is Beautiful.
Directed by David Camarena, the black-and-white video follows the trio as they move through New York City during their recent press run. Scenes capture them visiting The Breakfast Club and performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
In a conversation with Billboard, they reflected on the album’s creation. 2 Chainz shared his hopes for a Grammy nomination, saying the project feels different from anything he has released before. “That’s what gives me the confidence and the hope to think we’ll be suited and booted at the Grammys next year,” he said. Larry June added that there were no expectations—just great music. “This what a Grammy sound like. This what great music sound like — real organic.”
The Alchemist originally planned for a five-song EP but decided to expand it into a full album as the music kept improving. “Every joint just kept getting better,” he explained. “I wanted to do a five-pack, and then it was clear once we did a few of them, it was like, ‘We would be cheating them if we only gave them five.’”
The trio has been active throughout the album rollout, performing in Larry June’s hometown of San Francisco during NBA All-Star Weekend. “Colossal” is now the fifth video released to promote the project.
The video itself features the three artists on a rooftop in New York City, with black-and-white visuals adding to its cinematic feel. In a striking moment, buildings in the distance appear to explode, enhancing the dramatic effect of the song’s energy.
