Lil Yachty, a well-known rapper from Atlanta, is making headlines once again. This time, it’s for the launch of his new record label, Concrete Rekordz, and the release of its first major project, “It’s Us, Vol. 1.” This album is a collection of songs from a group called the Concrete Boys, a hip-hop collective formed by Lil Yachty and his friends. The release of their first single, “Family Business,” along with its music video, marked the start of this new venture. The video was created by Little Miles and AMD Visuals.
The album showcases a lineup of new and emerging artists such as Karrahbooo, Camo!, Dc2trill, and Draft Day. These artists were introduced during a tour across North America called The Field Trip Tour. Their debut song, “MO JAMS,” released in December 2023 which finally has a music video on Mar 28, 2024 under the name “Concrete Family”, has already received over 2 million views on YouTube sense it’s review.
In an interview, Lil Yachty shared his vision for Concrete Rekordz, explaining that the label is a collaboration with Quality Control Music/HYBE. He emphasized that the artists are his friends and that his main aim is to help them succeed and provide for their families. Yachty believes in the power of groups and crews in the music industry and sees his label as a platform for his artists to achieve greatness, aiming for them to become moguls within the next five years.
The debut album, “It’s Us Vol. 1,” is a landmark for the Concrete Boys and represents a significant step in their journey in the music world. Released under the partnership of Concrete Rekordz and Quality Control Music, the album consists of 16 tracks. It features a blend of classic rap and contemporary sounds, reflecting the diversity and energy of today’s rap culture. One of the standout tracks, Karrahbooo’s “Where Yo Daddy,” comes with a new music video, adding a visual element to the album’s release.
The album includes fan favorites like “MO JAMS,” “FAMILY BUSINESS,” “MY LIFE,” and “LOVE LANGUAGE,” each contributing to the unique sound and identity of the Concrete Boys. Led by Lil Yachty, the group aims to bring a fresh perspective to the hip-hop scene, blending different musical elements to create something new and exciting for listeners.
