    Lola Brooke’s ‘Don’t Play with It’ Achieves Platinum Certification by RIAA, Alongside Release of “Shelter Baby” Music Video

    Lola Brooke continues to make waves in the music industry with the recent release of the deluxe edition of her debut album, ‘Dennis Daughter.’ As part of her recently debuted album, Brooke has drop the official music video for one of its standout tracks, “Shelter Baby.”

    The song “Shelter Baby” serves as a reflection of Lola Brooke’s humble beginnings, starting back to her teenage years spent living in temporary housing. Through her lyrics, she narrates her journey from adversity to prosperity, showing her unwavering determination for a better life. Directed by Ben Marc, the accompanying visual carries viewers into the harsh reality of a old looking shelter, where fans can see Brooke performs sitting on a worn-out mattresses,in a room with bullet-holes windows, and warned out blinds.

    Delivered just days after she released another visual from the album, “Neighborhood Hero” on April 19, 2024,”Shelter Baby” video drop comes the same day the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took to press to announce Lola Brooke’s breakout hit, “Don’t Play with It,” featuring Billy B met their threshold for Platinum certification. Her single “Don’t Play with It,” sold over 1 million units in the United States. “Don’t Play with It,” released in 2021, became a viral hit through Tik Tok before eventually becoming Lola’s first charting hit on the Hot 100.
