American rapper, record producer, record executive, actor, and entrepreneur Master P’s birthday is April 29th, 1970. New Orleans, Louisiana rapper Master P, born Percy Robert Miller Sr. gained fame in the mid-1990s (His first release was his debut studio album “Get Away Clean” on February 12, 1991, second album “Mama’s Bad Boy,” which was released in April 1992). He also founded the record label No Limit Records in 1991, which was relaunched into the spin-off labels New No Limit Records and No Limit Forever Records. He was the lead member and founder of the label’s hip hop group TRU ( which dropped their first collab titled Understanding the Criminal Mind, and in 1993 they released another album titled Who’s da Killer?), as well as his fifth solo album Ice Cream Man (1996). Many fans also know him for his 1997 single, “Make ‘Em Say Uhh!” which received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
He is also the founder and chief executive officer of P. Miller Enterprises, which had launched a popular line of grocery products including chips, ramen, flour, rice, breakfast cereal, frying mix and other pantry staples. and Better Black Television being one of the first black owned television to be announced that was intended to provide “positive content for a vblack and brown culture,” but was a short-lived online television network.
Raised in Uptown New Orleans, Louisiana Master P is the oldest of five children. He has one sister, Germaine, and three brothers: Kevin, and platinum-selling rap artists Corey “C-Murder” and Vyshonne “Silkk the Shocker” Master P. Growing up he was initially an athlete, he was so good that attended the University of Houston on an athletic scholarship, but transferred to Merritt College in Oakland, California to major in business administration.. Did you know that Master P opened a record store in Richmond, California called No Limit Records And Tapes, which later became the foundation for No Limit Records.
Some Fans may know Master P from his 1994 No Limit compilation albums West Coast Bad Boyz, Vol. 1: Anotha Level of the Game and West Coast Bad Boyz: High fo Xmas. Or when his group TRU released their third album True in 1995, which was the group’s first major release after two independent albums. The album reached number 25 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and number 14 on the Top Heatseekers. The album was known for its first single and one of Master P’s best known songs “I’m Bout’ It, Bout It”.
Master P Has always been a businessman, he also created Beats By the Pound, a New Orleans, Louisiana-based American music production team made up of KLC, Mo B. Dick, Craig B, Carlos Stephens, DJ Daryl, and Odell. The collective helped sell 30 million records for Master P’s No Limit Records, from 1995 to 1999. Just like hits he’s dropped with his brother, Master P likes to keep it in the family, 2005 Master P and his son Romeo Miller formed the independent label Guttar Music. On November 29, 2005, Master P released his first independent album and thirteenth overall, Living Legend: Certified D-Boy, on Guttar Music. He even went on a tour with his brother Silkk The Shocker and his son Romeo titled No Limit Forever International back in 2010. He also got a new group back in 2015 called Money Mafia, which includes himself, his son Maserati Rome, Ace B, Young Junne, Eastwood, Gangsta, Play Beezy, Calliope Popeye, Flight Boy, and No Limit Forever.
Master P really is a jack of all trade as an entrepreneur, rap, record production, television production, snacks, he has invested the millions of dollars he made from his No Limit record company into a travel agency, No Limit Sports Management, a Foot Locker retail outlet, real estate, stocks, film, music, toy making, clothing, telecommunications, a jewelry line, auto accessories, book and magazine publishing, car rims, fast food franchises, and gas stations.
