On April 8, Missy Elliott announced her first-ever headlining tour, titled “Out of This World: The Missy Elliott Experience.” The tour is scheduled to visit 24 cities throughout North America this summer, with Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Timbaland joining her. Although Elliott co-headlined three tours and appeared as a special guest or opening act on several others, she has never been a solo headliner.
The Grammy-winning rapper’s tour, “Out of This World: The Missy Elliott Experience,” will kick off at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on July 4 before making stops in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Houston, Washington, New York City, Atlanta, Montreal, Toronto, Las Vegas, Boston, Denver, Seattle, Detroit, and other cities through the end of August. The tour will conclude on August 22 at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
“This is an incredible time in my life as I am experiencing so many milestone ‘firsts.’ Being the FIRST female Hip Hop artist to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and now going out on my FIRST headline tour,” said the “Work It” rapper in a statement. She also mentioned that fans have long been asking for a solo tour, but she “wanted to wait until I felt the time was right because I knew if I was ever going to do it, I had to do it big, and I had to do it with family.”
Tickets for the “Out of This World: The Missy Elliott Experience” will first become available through a Verizon presale running from April 9 at 10 a.m. local time through April 11 at 10 p.m. local time, followed by additional presales before the general on-sale launches on April 12 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages are also available via VIPNation.
Fans can expect to hear hit classics like the “Touch It” Remix performed by Busta Rhymes featuring Rah Digga, Papoose, Lloyd Banks, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, and DMX, along with Missy Elliott’s “Lose Control” featuring Ciara & Fat Man Scoop, and Ciara’s “1, 2 Step” and “Work” featuring Missy Elliott. Let’s not forget another top charter, Timbaland & Magoo’s “Up Jumps da Boogie,” along with Missy Elliott & Aaliyah. For special guest she might bring out Lil Kim, Keyshia cole, or Da Brat, given she has hit songs with these ladies.
