Kehlani has finally released the music video for her recent hit “After Hours,” featuring a sample from Scatta’s classic “Coolie Dance Rhythm.” Directed by Amber Park and shot at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas, the video captures Kehlani and her friends enjoying a night out in Sin City.
The video kicks off with Kehlani and her crew gathering at the Fontainebleau for pre-party drinks. It then transitions to a showcase of popular TikTok choreography, choreographed by Darius Hickman, a dancer known for his work with Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour. Kehlani steals the spotlight, using a luggage cart as her stage, dressed in a striking hundred-dollar bill corset dress and fancy jewelry.
Throughout the video, various locations within the hotel, including the pool and a hotel room, serve as backdrops, highlighting the party vibe and the song’s infectious energy. The vibrant visuals, pulsating beat, and impressive choreography brings viewers into Kehlani’s world, complete with the viral “After Hours” dance challenge. The video also features a surprise appearance by Cordel “Scatta” Burrell.
“After Hours” has made waves on the charts, reaching No. 21 on Rhythmic Airplay and No. 47 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The single was released on April 4th, 2024, and is expected to be included in Kehlani’s upcoming album. This album will mark her first release since “Blue Water Road,” her third album, which debuted in early 2022.
