The Roots Picnic is back and bigger than ever! The festival returns to The Mann in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, on May 31 and June 1, 2025. This year’s headliners include D’Angelo performing with The Roots, plus Meek Mill, Lenny Kravitz, and GloRilla.
The Roots will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic album Do You Want More?!!!??!. Meanwhile, Jeezy will mark 20 years of Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101, and Musiq Soulchild will celebrate the 25th anniversary of Aijuswanaseing.
Other big names set to hit the stage include Miguel, Latto, Tems, Black Thought, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Kaytranada, Kur, Elmiene, Lay Banks, Jermaine Dolly, Laila!, Funk Flex, Diamond Kuts, DJ Aktive, Peyton, and Leeyuh Neptune. J. Period will host a live mixtape featuring Black Thought, and 2 Chainz, while Rich Medina’s Black House Set will feature Crystal Waters and CeCe Peniston. Adam Blackstone is teaming up with Jagged Edge, and CeeLo Green is set to appear during Baller Alert’s Backyard Band.
But the music isn’t the only thing happening at the Roots Picnic. There will also be a lineup of day parties, including Trap Karaoke, Doo-Wop… That R&B Party, Girls Love Karaoke, Kirk Franklin’s Sunday School with DJ Mal-Ski, Philly Black Pride, Interna$hional Bounce, All Spice World Dance, and the World Series of Spades.
Presale tickets go live on February 18 at 10 a.m. ET and run through February 20 at 10 p.m. ET. General ticket sales start on February 21 at 10 a.m. ET.
On top of the Philadelphia event, The Roots is also bringing A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ‘95 to Los Angeles on June 8, 2025, at the Hollywood Bowl. This one-day show will feature legendary 90s artists like Lil’ Kim, Redman & Method Man, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, DJ Quik, Raekwon, E-40, Goodie Mob, and Havoc of Mobb Deep. The Roots will headline and serve as the backing band for all guest performances.
Reflecting on their journey, Questlove shared, “1995 was the year it all came together. That was when Do You Want More?!!!??! was released, and hip-hop was in a whole new era. It was a time of major creativity, and we’re excited to celebrate that.”
With such a stacked lineup and two massive events, the 2025 Roots Picnic is shaping up to be unforgettable!
