Snoop Dogg and his son, Cordell Broadus, are teaming up to launch Death Row Games, a platform aimed at empowering minority game developers. This dynamic father-son duo has already embarked on several successful business ventures, including an interactive restaurant concept with Food Fighters Universe and a comic book in the form of an NFT.
Death Row Games, an offshoot of Death Row Records acquired by Snoop Dogg in 2022, plans to utilize the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) application to design, develop, and publish content within the Fortnite ecosystem.
Cordell Broadus, in an interview with AfroTech, shared his excitement about working alongside his rap legend father. He emphasized the importance of bridging generational gaps and keeping Snoop Dogg updated on industry trends. Cordell also revealed his involvement with the estate of his father’s former Death Row labelmate, 2Pac, and his role in consulting for Snoop Dogg and other conglomerates.
Their vision for Death Row Games is clear—to provide a platform for diverse creators in the gaming world and actively contribute to the narrative of the industry. Cordell emphasized the importance of representation from undeserved communities and diversifying decision-making in the gaming sector.
Snoop Dogg, now the owner of Death Row Records, has been working tirelessly to revitalize the brand, signing new artists and launching ventures like Death Row Cannabis. Additionally, he recently made the label’s iconic catalog available on streaming services after over a year’s absence.
As Snoop Dogg and Cordell Broadus continue to make waves in various industries, Death Row Games stands as their latest endeavor to empower minority creators in the gaming world, making sure that diverse voices and stories are heard.
