Westside Gunn Announces New Album “Still Praying” Album Dropping Soon

Westside Gunn is keeping his momentum strong, announcing a new album titled “Still Praying.” The New York Rapper took to Instagram on September 4 to reveal what appears to be the album’s cover art, featuring a striking image of the late wrestler Sidney “Sid Vicious” Eudy. Gunn’s caption, filled with emojis of a goat, scorpion, and scales, confirmed the project’s title and generated buzz in the comments section where he revealed that this is indeed a full album, not just a single.

The Griselda rapper created excitement for “Still Praying,” referring to it as “a F***IN ART PIECE,” teasing that this album will maintain the high artistic standards his fans have come to expect. While specific details like a release date are not yet revealed, the project seems to be a spiritual continuation of his previous works, “Pray For Paris” and “And Then You Pray For Me.”

This new release adds to an already-packed schedule for Westside Gunn. He has hinted at multiple upcoming projects, including the much-anticipated “Michelle Records” and the third installment of his “Flygod Is An Awesome God series,” which he’s naming “Flygod Is An Awesome God III (Trilogy).” Last month, he broke the news about “Flygod III” on Instagram after stepping away from the public eye following the death of his close friend and music associate, a.k.a. Big Dump, whom he referred to as his “big bro.”

In his heartfelt post, Gunn assured fans that he was still fully immersed in his creative process, stating, “I’m still SUPER FLYGOD every day,” and that he’s been “designing some incredible pieces.” He also expressed gratitude for those who reached out to check on his mental and physical well-being during his brief hiatus. Describing his new album as “KRAAAAAZY,” Gunn noted the return of his iconic mask, a symbol of the raw, gritty style that has made him a standout in the rap game. “YOUR FATHER’S BACK HOME,” he added, signaling his return to form.

Interestingly, “Still Praying” could arrive before “Flygod Is An Awesome God III,” as Westside Gunn recently mentioned he plans to drop another project that he completed in just 24 hours. This rapid recording pace marks a stark contrast to earlier comments Gunn made, where he had suggested that “And Then You Pray For Me” would be his final studio album.

Speaking to Rolling Stone last year, Gunn reflected on his decision to scale back on formal album releases. “This is going to be the last album where I take the time to say ‘this is an album,’” he said at the time. He compared his older projects, like the “Hitler Wears Hermes” series, to mixtapes that were recorded in just a few days. While he didn’t rule out future collaborations with producers like Madlib, Daringer, Conductor Williams, Camouflage Monk, or The Alchemist, Gunn hinted that his days of crafting traditional studio albums might be behind him.

Despite those past declarations, Westside Gunn has shown no signs of slowing down. With “Still Praying” and multiple other projects on the way, it’s clear that the Griselda heavyweight remains as creatively driven as ever. Fans can look forward to more of Gunn’s signature blend of raw lyricism, innovative production, and high-concept artistry in the months to come.
