Doja Cat has expanded her album “Scarlet” with a Deluxe Edition, adding seven new songs to the collection. The release date was Friday, April 5th, following her fourth studio album that debuted back in September. The additional tracks include collaborations with Teezo Touchdown on “Masc,” A$AP Rocky on “Urrrge,” as well as “Piss,” “OKLoser,” “Acknowledge Me,” “Disrespectful,” and “Headhigh,” bringing the total track count to 24 for ‘Scarlet.’
“Paint the Town Red,” the lead song from “Scarlet,” became a huge commercial hit and became Doja Cat’s first solo number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100, the UK Singles Chart, the Billboard Global 200, and numerous other national charts throughout the globe. The album also features tracks like “Demons,” “Attention,” “Balut,” “Go Off,” “Can’t Wait,” “Wet Vagina,” “Skull and Bones,” “Ouchies,” “Shutcho,” “WYM Freestyle,” and seven more.
The expanded album release comes slightly more than a week before Doja Cat’s headlining appearance at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. She is scheduled to perform in Indio, California, on Sunday night, April 14th, following Lana Del Rey and Tyler, the Creator headlining on Friday and Saturday respectively.
In an interview on The Therapy Gecko Podcast, Doja shared the inspiration behind the album’s title and how it influenced her creative process. She explained that the character Claude Frollo from “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” served as a significant inspiration for the project, feeling it connected to the story of Scarlet in some way.
In addition to Coachella, Doja Cat will be performing at “Parklife 2024” in Manchester on June 9th, as well as at “OVO Hydro” in Glasgow, UK, on June 11th. For more Doja Cat events, fans can visit her official website.
