The well-known company run by Kanye West has opened an Instagram account with the name (@yeezy), which as of this writing has over 237k followers.
The three designers said in a recent statement that certain items from the unisex Fall/Winter collection would be on sale in some Gap locations on July 21, 2022, beginning at 10 a.m. ET. By setting up shop in the Time Square flagship in New York City, the Chicago-born billionaire is extending his Yeezy Gap brand to the real world. On Thursday, July 21st, the hot wave and occasional evening thunderstorms in NYC didn’t seem to bother fans of the collaboration from showing up in large numbers and waiting in a long line to get into the store and buy items from the first drop.
The latest collection from Demna Gvasalia, creative director of Balenciaga, and multihyphenate Ye, the American essentials brand (with who he has a 10-year development partnership), ranges in price from $60 for baseball caps to $400 for puffer jackets. Classic Gap designs are presented in Yeezy’s distinctive massive and minimalist aesthetic in neutral grey and black. Including oversized seamless T-shirts, stretched lightweight fleece logo hoodies with distressed finishes, mock neck pullovers in a matte nylon/spandex material, coated cotton overalls, and more.
The clothing comes in sizes XS to XXL and has an imprinted dove on the backside to represent “a message of hope for the future, “according to Yeezy Gap. As stated on the shop websites, delivery of the items will start approximately August 5. Yeezy Gap Selective national Gap shops will soon carry the pieces from the Engineered by Balenciaga line, which will be available for the first time in brick-and-mortar stores. A virtual game event created by Demna was also showcased at the in-person event on Thursday, appearing to be a logical continuation of Balenciaga’s FW21 game. The Yeezy Gap according to a statement from the brand “has been re-engineered and distilled to its most essential form in Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga’s vision of utilitarian design. The entry into Gap stores fulfills the vision to deliver Yeezy Gap design on a larger scale.”In addition to other Gap locations, Yeezy Gap will be sold in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Nashville, Dallas, and Seattle.
