Fans of the rap game have been buzzing with excitement as Latto appears to have thrown some major shade at Ice Spice in her guest verse on Offset’s latest album, “Set It Off.” The track in question, titled “FINE AS CAN BE,” carries the energetic cadence reminiscent of early Migos records.
In her fiery verse, Latto references Ice Spice’s breakout hit, “Munch (Feelin’ U),” while asserting her dominance over the competition. The lyrics in question go, “That n-gga a munch/ Yo bookin’ fee, ate it for lunch/ I don’t do backends, need it up front/ I’m big dawg, you b****es is runts/ Don’t pull wigs, don’t pull stunts/ I pull triggers and I pull blunts/ I pull cars like it’s Tonk/ B****, you couldn’t top me in the bunk (ha!).”
Social media erupted with fans theorizing that Latto’s bars were aimed directly at the Bronx native, Ice Spice. Comments like “So Latto eating Ice Spice up on offset album [thinking face emoji]” and “Latto skulldragged ice spice lapdog ass” flooded the online platforms.
This latest apparent jab from Latto adds fuel to an ongoing rivalry between the two female rap stars. In July, Ice Spice seemed to throw shade at Latto on two tracks from her project, “Like..? (Deluxe).” Ice Spice’s lyrics seemed to reference Latto’s hit song, “Put It On Da Floor.”
Furthermore, just last month, Ice Spice stirred the pot with comments about competition among female rap peers, hinting at a competitive spirit within the industry. It’s clear that the rivalry between these two talented artists is far from over, and fans are eagerly watching to see how it unfolds.
