St. Louis Record producer Metro Boomin has been getting a lot of attention lately. He’s been teaming up with Future on some popular albums like “We Don’t Trust You” and “We Still Don’t Trust You.” And now, he’s jumping into the sneaker game with something another collab, but not for music this time: a collaboration with Kevin Durant for the new Nike KD 17.
Kevin Durant is getting ready to drop his latest signature kicks, part of his “Producer Series” collection. One of the pairs is a shout-out to producer “Heroes & Villains” Metro Boomin. This is not Kevin Durant first time paying homage to a producer, back in 2022, Nike released a three-shoe KD 15 “Producer Pack” paying homage to 9th Wonder, Cardo, and Boi-1da.
The Metro Boomin and Kevin Durant X Nike KD 17 “Metro Boomin” sneakers are eye-catching, with a tie-dye color scheme like shades of purple, ranging from very light to dark such as viotech purple and atomic violet, along with hyper grape, white, and black it’s bound to catch many eyes with any outfit. They’ve got cool lightning bolt designs and clear TPU overlays that allow the vibrant colors to show. Plus, there’s a touching tribute to Metro’s late mom with a “Hearts On Fire” graphic on one heel and a “Leslie” signature in purple on the other side. And if you’re a fan of Metro’s 2018 album “Not All Heroes Wear Capes,” you’ll spot some little references in the design, like a little jumping figure on the tongue.
You can get your hands on one of these pairs of the Metro Boomin and Kevin Durant x Nike KD 17 “Metro Boomin” starting June 14, 2024. They’ll be up for sale at select Nike Basketball stores, both in-person and online at Nike.com. And with a price tag of $160, you’re getting a mix of style and comfortable sneaks for a great price. Metro Boomin and Future will be heading out on their “we Don’t Trust you Tour” in celebration of their album of the same name, read more about the tour at HipHopUntapped.com.
