    Rihanna Talks About “R9” Album, Met Gala 2024, Fenty Beauty, and Savage x Fenty

    The anticipation surrounding Rihanna’s upcoming album never seems to fade, especially with her continuous releases in the realms of Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty, all while teasing that the album is on its way. Juggling her relationship with A$ap Rocky and the joys of motherhood with two little ones under two, Rza and Riot, it’s no wonder Rihanna’s focus on her CEO duties with Fenty—spanning skincare, makeup, and fashion—is delaying the album’s arrival.

    Take, for instance, April 17th when Rihanna launched her new Fenty x Puma “Creeper Phatty Earth Tone” sneaker. The sneakers come in three color way one is the ‘Totally Taupe’ colorway, which dropped first and the remaining two colorways, ‘Green Fog’ and ‘Warm White’, launched on April 25, 2024. Made from luxe nubuck materials with golden touches, the sneaker aims to stand out while blending in with soft, natural colors. Despite the sneaker drop, questions about the album persisted. Rihanna, without giving away too much, hinted that the wait would be worth it, calling her new tracks “so good.”

    Just recently, on April 26, 2024, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty brand celebrated the release of its latest collection at her Los Angeles warehouse. The new Fenty Beauty “Soft’lit Foundation,” marking what she described as “a new era in foundation for the brand.” Catering to those seeking a clean, no-makeup look without a heavy face beat,his foundation perfectly meets the needs of those who want a natural appearance.

    Turning to her other venture, Savage X Fenty, Rihanna’s innovative spirit continues to shine. While the inaugural Savage X Fenty runway show back in 2018 wasn’t televised, subsequent shows found their way to screens via Amazon Prime. The latest, titled Vol 4, premiered on November 8, 2022, showcasing a collection available for immediate purchase online, boasting an inclusive size range and an array of styles from lingerie to loungewear..     Although there was no 2023 show, Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty brand made waves with its releases that year. Additionally, the brand launched football-themed merchandise for Super Bowl 2023, showcasing jerseys adorned with Fenty logos.

    Further adding to the excitement, Rihanna unveiled the “I Dare Hue collection” from Savage X Fenty, which boasted color-blocking mesh bras and panties, reversible sleep tops in vibrant neon hues, and starburst-patterned crystal pasties. This collection aimed to inspire individuals to embrace new styles while staying true to themselves, offering pieces like feather-trimmed handcuffs, satin restraints, eye masks, and garter belts.

    Not stopping there, Rihanna introduced the Savage X Fenty’s New Sheer X Campaign, debuting its first spacer demi bra crafted from soft non-foam material. The range expanded to include underwear in cheeky and thong styles, featuring colorways ranging from red pink to terracotta pink and black caviar. Exclusive to Savage X Fenty’s Xtra VIP members, the Sheer X VIP Box offered the demi spacer bra, thong panty, and a limited-edition skirt for a truly special experience.

    As of 2024, we’ve got the Savage X Fenty’s Valentine Day collection, the Valentine’s Day collection featured vibrant colors, bold styles, and sultry lingerie. Rihanna also recently released the “Savage X Fenty’s Signature Script Lingerie” collection on April 1, 2024. The collection includes six lace pieces in four colors and a wide range of sizes. The pieces include an unlined bra, cheeky panty, thong panty, underwire teddy, slip, sleep top, and sleep short. Rihanna has called the collection her “sexiest one yet” and said it’s meant to make people feel “empowered and sexy any time of day”. She also dropped her “Bridal collection” a few days ahead of her new “Soft’lit Foundation” Fenty Beauty makeup. Savage x Fenty is celebrating fearlessness, confidence and inclusivity with their “Bridal” collection, which features crafted Embroidered Lace Corsets, Fishnet thigh highs with lace trim, bras, garters, and other lingerie sets.

    Rihanna seems aware that fans have been eagerly awaiting her “R9” album, the much-anticipated follow-up to her 2016 album “Anti.” The album “Anti” Spent over 400 weeks on Billboard 200, making it the longest charting album of all time by a black female artist. During an interview at the event, she addressed fans, stating, “It’s gonna be amazing…It has to be — that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away …There should be a show of growth, right?… I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and show truly where I am at.”

    Rihanna also confirmed she will be at the 2024 Met Gala, which will take place May 6th, fans might get lucky with a snippet of what the Bad Girl got in a store for her fans. Given all the potential (unconfirmed) artists we’ve heard could be on the album from Jamaican (Nicki Minaj and Shaggy), African ( Wizkid and Ayra Starr), along with her sons , RZA, And Riot, and a few American artists we can tell the album will definitely be an international hit. Though Rihanna’s long wait and meticulous approach may test fans’ patience, there’s no doubt that the musical masterpiece in the making will be well worth the wait.
