Tee Grizzley and Future have joined forces for the release of their new track, “Swear To God,” dropping on Friday, May 10th.
The hard-hitting single kicks off with the lyrics: “F*** your album, s*** ain’t slappin’ like my mixtape (F*** your album).” Tee Grizzley teased the track with a cryptic tweet on Thursday, quoting the opening line, which many interpreted as a subtle jab at Gunna, whose album, “One of Wun,” was also slated for release on the same day. Gunna’s subsequent social media posts were seen by some as responses to Future’s quote teaser. Tee Grizzley’s verse continues with lines like “We move like the mob (We on that), that pressure get applied (At all times)/N**** play, he dyin’ (What else), I swear to God (on me)….”
In another verse, Future raps, “I’m gettin’ Saudi Arabia money, servin’ oil-based (What’s happenin’?)…Rob a rapper and say my name, get his chain back (Pluto)…My b***8 cheat on me, I find out, get her chain snatched.” The accompanying video showcases the duo rapping behind a jewelry store counter, cruising off in a Maybach, and other opulent scenes.
Within an hour of its release, fans took to Twitter to praise the mixtape, with one fan declaring, “Wheezy production slapped and Tee flowed so well with Future. Slapped as hard as his mixtape 🔥.”
