Jay-Z and Dame Dash Legal Battle Intensifies Over Roc-A-Fella Shares

The longstanding tensions between Jay-Z and Dame Dash have resurfaced in a legal dispute over Roc-A-Fella Records. Documents obtained by Radar Online reveal that a judge has ordered Dame to sell his shares of the label following a judgment against him in a case related to the 2016 film Dear Frank.

The judgment, totaling $823,000, was issued to movie producer Josh Weber. Both Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke objected to the forced sale of Dame’s shares, citing company bylaws. However, the judge ruled in favor of seizing Dame’s one-third ownership to cover the judgment, labeling it as his personal property.

Jay-Z and Biggs‘ concern primarily revolves around preventing outsiders from acquiring Roc-A-Fella’s intellectual rights. The judge suggested they participate in the auction to safeguard the label’s integrity.

Dame Dash faced legal action over Dear Frank, with allegations of copyright infringement and defamation. Despite being removed from the project, he was sued for attempting to claim the film as his own and shop it around under a different title. The jury ruled against Dash in 2022, leading to the current legal proceedings.

With tensions high and legal battles ongoing, the future of Roc-A-Fella Records remains uncertain amidst the clash between its former partners.
