Quavo and Takeoff Release The Music Video For “Hotel Lobby” Under A New Name “Unc And Phew”

With Unc & Phew it appears to be the end of the “Migos,” but this might just be a media ploy or a well-planned marketing scheme for the group to return bigger.

Quavo and colleague Migos member Offset had unfollowed each other on Instagram, which sparked rumors previously this week about the group splitting up. While leaving LAX on Thursday, Quavo was questioned about the rumors; unfortunately, he declined to comment and instead utilized the chance to promote “Hotel Lobby.”

The “Migos” is a hip hop group from Lawrenceville, Georgia, that was formed in 2008. Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff is the names of the three rappers who make up the group. In 2013, Migos debuted their first mainstream hit, “Versace,” off their mixtape Y.R.N. (Young Rich Niggas). They’ve since released many more hit songs, such as “Fight Night” (2014), and “Look at My Dab” (2015).

Along with four Billboard Hot 100 top ten entries: “Bad and Boujee” (featuring Lil Uzi Vert) (2016), which reached number one, “MotorSport” (featuring Nicki Minaj and Cardi B) (2017), which reached number six, “Stir Fry” (2018), which reached number eight, and “Walk It Talk (featuring Drake) (2018), charted at number ten.

Unc and Phew are officially here with their first official single, whether the Migos are still a thing or not. The Atlanta locals presented their new collaboration “Hotel Lobby” on Friday, May 20, 2022, the first release from their recently revealed side combo Unc & Phew.

In the song’s official music video, Quavo and Takeoff went wild in Las Vegas, balancing their skillful trio flow harmony with hallucinogenic drugs, alcohol, and hilarious scenes, providing a dramatic look to their debut production.

Given the little age gap between the 31-year-old and 27-year-old rappers, the moniker “Unc and Phew” refers to the ATL rapper’s family links, as Quavo is Takeoff’s uncle. The Murda Beatz-produced track comes with a video that pays homage to the current classic masterpiece “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” which had been inspired by the same-named 1971 classic book by “gonzo journalism” godfather Hunter S. Thompson. Hunco Films directed the visual.
